Visas

Nationals of Australia, EU countries, the European principalities of Monaco and San Marino, Canada, Cyprus, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Malta, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, the USA and most South American countries can stay in Greece for up to three months without a visa.

Greece will refuse entry to anyone whose passport indicates that, since November 1983, they have visited North Cyprus. Please contact the tourist board for more information.

Attractions

In Greece you can enjoy the beautiful Mediterranean Sea views, great food, unforgettable ancient monuments in lush surroundings and the vast array of beautiful islands.

Amongst the popular tourist attractions are the ancient architecture in Athens and the historic museums in Crete. Sail into a haven of deep blue sky and green olive groves in the Dodecanese and the Ionian Islands. Visit the tranquil monasteries of Meteora and churches in Peloponnese.

Other islands to visit are Sporades islands, Saronic Gulf Islands and Northeastern Aegean Islands, each with its one unique identity, all with amazing views.

Speed limits in the Greece are measured in KPH (Kilometres per Hour). Speeds vary greatly so please check the road signs.

Speed Limits for cars:

Expressways: 120 kph (75 mph) Urban stretches: 110 kph (68 mph)
Dual carriageways: 120 kph (75 mph) Outside built-up areas: 110 kph (68 mph)
Built-up areas: 50 kph (30 mph)    

Many roads are three lanes wide. Generally the middle lane is used for passing in both directions. If there is little room to pass on the road, usually fast drivers expect slow drivers to pull onto the shoulder in order to pass.
